Merger means new yellow metal products for UK market

Keywords TW Metals, Merger, Copper, Brass

Formed by the merger of special steels and metals distributor, Tubesales with the metals service centre and processor, Williams and Company, operating in the USA, TW Metals Ltd is forecasting significant expansion of its product range, available for the UK market (Plate 3).

Plate 3 TW Metals now has a supply source for brass and copper sheet and plate

Some new products have already been introduced. Yellow metals in the form of copper tubes are now in stock at TW Metals' Southampton warehouse. Targeting particularly high conductivity, vacuum and cryogenic applications in the laboratory, food and chemical industries, copper tubes are available in a size range from 6mm up to 12mm outside diameter.

The merger has also opened up a source for brass and copper sheet and plate. In-house processing with the latest waterjet and plasma cutting equipment allows cut-to-shape and size profiles to be supplied in thicknesses up to 300m. Says commercial manager Geoff Reaney:

New product possibilities in the future, in addition to the range of yellow metal products, include supplying decoiled sheet and plate; special stainless steel sheet and plate sizes on short lead times; an increased range of nickel and high alloys in bar, sheet and plate; and an extended range of aluminium sheet.
