Fosroc gains ISO 14001 accreditation

Keyword: Fosroc

UK-based Fosroc Ltd reports that it has gained ISO 14001, one of the first chemicals companies to achieve the standard that recognises environmentally safe practices.

ISO 14001 has been awarded by the British Standards Institution in recognition of the systems that the Tamworth company has introduced in order to ensure the least possible impact on the environment. These systems cover every element of the company's work from how it handles waste products to the amount of energy it uses.

"We are delighted to have achieved this accreditation," commented Ken Bailey, supply chain manager for Fosroc Ltd. "This is thanks to the hard work of all employees who have demonstrated their commitment over the past six months to achieving the standard."

All 150 employees at Fosroc's headquarters have been involved with gaining the standard, information on which is now included in the company's training programme.

ISO 14001 demands a process of continuous improvement and Fosroc has pledged to reduce its energy consumption by 10 per cent over the course of this year.
