Chemetall acquires DINOL corrosion inhibiting compounds

Keywords: Corrosion inhibitors, Aerospace industry

Chemetall GmbH, Frankfurt/M, has acquired the aviation business of the Swedish DINOL AB:Hässleholm.

The takeover includes the complete product line of DINOL's corrosion inhibiting compounds (CIC) used for the protection of aerospace metals and alloys within aircraft structures. The Dinotrol brand of aerospace products is recognised as the technology and market leader throughout the world for this niche market. These products deliver outstanding performance throughout the aviation industry and are approved by all major aircraft manufacturers and airline companies.

The CIGs will be incorporated into the Aerospace Technologies that complement Chemetall's existing product line of Ardrox, Oakite and Naftoseal products that are already recognised globally by the aviation industry for maintenance, cleaning, pretreatment, non-destructive testing and sealing.

This significant acquisition further enhances the product portfolio of the Frankfurt based specially chemicals company. Chemetall's wide product range offers a single source option for its aviation and aerospace customers thus enabling them to purchase most of their specially chemical need from one competent partner.

DINOL is now leaving the aviation business to concentrate on the automotive after- market. In the future full attention will be paid to extend further its market position in the area of Bonding, Coating and Sealing applications for the vehicle repair market.
