ProCoat unveils new class of protective coating

ProCoat Global Coatings has produced a new class of protective coating for application in a number of industries including offshore oil and gas.

ProCoat is a polyurethane and rubber- based, spray applied and solvent-free coating. It is an elastic one-coat solution, which combats heavy corrosion and protects against wear, impact, cavitation, diffusion, electrical, chemical, and icing. It also provides reduced viscous drag, vibration, acoustic, and thermal transference.

ProCoat was designed to extend the lifecycle of coated assets and not require re-application. It is produced using 50 percent rubber crumb from recycled tires. The product adheres to many surfaces including concrete, metal, plastic, and wood and worn asphalt and is also available in a thixotropic version.

The product has undergone over 100 independent tests in Europe and Japan confirming and quantifying its properties. It has been specified as the protective coating by various government highway, railway and naval agencies in Sweden and also has NATO and MOD-UK approval.
