Multiaxis laser processing system

Multiaxis laser processing system

Designed for high speed contour cutting, drilling and welding flat and 3D parts for aerospace, automotive and other advanced manufacturing environments, the Laserdyne 890 Beam Director system is specially developed for fast information processing to ensure reliability and accuracy within tight tolerances. The system's moving bridge with its five axes design provides multiple set up to reduce set up time and maximise beam on- time, and the capability to process large workpieces.

The Laserdyne® 890 BeamDirector® multiaxis laser processing system exhibited at Schweissen & Schneiden '97 by industrial laser specialist Lumonics

According to Lumonics the Laserdyne 890 BeamDirector system provides Automatic Focus Control (AFC) to maintain constant laser beam focus in both beam axis and any user selected direction, and AutoNormal™ to quickly and accurately orientate the laser beam perpendicular (normal) to the part surface, thus reducing programming time. In addition, the Laserdyne system incorporates FeatureFinding™ for locating critical part features and referencing key laser features, In-Fixture Gauging™ to verify that the part is fixtured correctly before beginning processing, and a direct drive BeamDirector which provides a more compact operation with an increased work envelope efficiency.
