North-East OEM and component engineers Aerospace System & Technologies (AS&T) have taken delivery of the latest CNC technology from T.W. Ward CNC Machinery.
The Soraluce SL5000 travelling column, fixed bed milling centre recently installed at Consett-based AS&T is equipped with a Universal automatic head with 22kW spindle power, and has a vertical travel of 1,000mm and cross travel of 900mm. The Soraluce SL5000 has been purchased to effect work on reinforcing plates for the undercarriage on the Airbus contract.
