Brought together for the first time by SKF is technical data for more than 16,000 rolling bearings and accessories, plain bearings and seals complete with tables and dimensional cross-section drawings (Plate 16). Now available on a fully interactive CD-ROM catalogue, data can be easily printed off and exported to CAD programs as DXF files.

The Interactive Engineering CD catalogue combines the current SKF general catalogue of some 960 pages, regarded by engineers worldwide as the most definitive of bearing reference books, together with the extended SKF range of catalogues on specific products which equate to a single reference of some 3,000 printed pages.

Included are more than 2,000 new colour illustrations, animations, video sequences and calculation programs together with fast and simple access to all information normally required by designers on the use of rolling bearings, plain bearings, seals and lubrication.

On the CD, maintenance, mounting and dismounting are comprehensively explained. Simple menu-based navigation has been structured to include hypertext which depicts pictures, tables and illustrations and allows rapid access to related subjects elsewhere in the catalogue.

Fast browsing is encouraged by the format of the CD and by using movable windows for pictures, tables and calculations, comparison of data is made very easy.
