Bob Burns has been appointed president of Dowty Tubular Systems and Mark Hilton becomes vice president aerospace sales & marketing, for this new Dowty company.
The new company brings together two US-based businesses, namely Lewis & Saunders, a leading fabricator of rigid tubular assemblies and Titeflex, a leading producer of Teflon and metal flex hoses, which also has a facility in France.
Bob Burns, who holds an MBA degree, was previously general manager of Lewis & Saunders. During this period he successfully converted operations to a full cellular layout which was instrumental in reducing lead times and expanding the operating capacity of this business.
Mark Hilton has held a number of sales related positions supporting the aerospace market. He was most recently sales director for Lewis & Saunders and in this role he was instrumental in penetrating new accounts which underpinned the successful growth of that business.
