FLS and Shannon MRO sign MOU

Keywords FLS, Shannon, Aerospace industry

FLS Aerospace and Shannon MRO have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining their intentions to develop a closer working relationship in respect of subcontract business, manpower, and equipment sharing.

The MOU covers aircraft checks, component support and the secondment of employees. Subject to terms to be agreed, FLS Aerospace will have first refusal on hangar slot availability at Shannon MRO, whose capability includes B727 and B737 aircraft. In addition, both parties will enter discussions in respect of FLS Aerospace being named as the preferred supplier of Component Overhaul support to Shannon MRO.

FLS Aerospace also agreed, when necessary and available, to source extra staff and equipment from Shannon MRO. This will be a reciprocal arrangement and terms have yet to be agreed.

FLS also informs us that Azzurra Air, the rapidly growing Alitalia franchisee, has chosen it as its single source of component support for two leased Boeing 737-700 aircraft that it is now operating on charter flights throughout southern Europe.

FLS Aerospace, Boeing 737 support specialist, will provide total component support to Azzurra on a rate per flight hour basis. The five-year contract commences with immediate effect. FLS Aerospace will provide a consignment of rotable components at Azzurra's main operating bases of Bergamo and Milan - Malpensa airports in Italy.
