Flying start to the millennium

Keywords Farnborough International, Royal International'Air Tattoo, Aviation

In 2000 Farnborough International and The Royal International Air Tattoo are coming together for two weeks of aviation. Organisers of both events, the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund Enterprises (RAFBFE) respectively, are working together to provide two weeks of aviation excellence for trade and public visitors, entitled "A Flying Start to the Millennium".

Peter Taylor, SBAC's Director of Exhibitions, says: "Both events are high profile in their own right and it seemed only natural for SBAC and RAFBFE to work together. With the two events back-to-back there is much scope for collaboration to provide a seamless event for joint visitors, especially overseas government delegations who will attend both shows".

Paul Bowen, director of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund Enterprises, says: "We are very pleased to be working with SBAC on 'A Flying Start to the Millennium'. There are many duplicated areas when organising two shows of such a large magnitude, that it makes sense in all respects for us to be collaborating".

The International Air Tattoo will be held from 19-23 July 2000 with Farnborough International from 24-30 July.
