NMF chooses new plant location

Keywords National Metal Finishing, Canada, Metal finishing

The local economy in Wichita, Kansas, has received a boost with the announcement that National Metal Finishing (NMF) of Canada is to locate its new subsidiary, NMF America, in the city known locally as "aviation capital of the world". Major aircraft manufacturers already located in Wichita include Boeing, Cessna, Raytheon and Bombardier Learjet.

The Canadian company, which specializes in metal processing services for the aviation industry, will invest approximately $5 million in the new Wichita facility. The company intends to hire 25 to 30 employees in its first year of operation. Within five years, NMF America expects to double the initial investment of $5 million and expand the workforce to at least 100 employees.

NMF's announcement comes after six months of discussions between the Kansas Department of Commerce & Housing's Trade Development Division, the City of Wichita, the Wichita Area Chamber of Commerce, and NMF Canada management.
