British European Aviation Services prepares to expand activity in 2001

Keywords British European Aviation Services

British European Aviation Services is expanding its engineering and technical services activity in 2001. The Walker Aviation Group company reports that it has filed a planning application for the building of a second hangar at its Exeter Airport base. Coincidentally, the company is currently in dialogue with a number of property developers and investment parties who may assist with the funding. The investment will be phased, totalling £5 million approximately, and will mean the creation of some 100 new jobs.

At Exeter Airport, British European Aviation Services recently expanded its existing hangar with a tail dock facility.

The company reports that it is also interested in securing a hangar at Belfast City Airport to support British European's expanding operations there and offer third party line maintenance work, just as it does at Birmingham Airport. Last year the company took over two former British Airways' hangars. One is operational and the second will be fully operational in March 2001, following an extensive refurbishment including a new lighting system.
