Following a year-long increase in orders for development services and support around the Open CASCADE 3D modelling components, EADS Matra Datavision informs us that it has undertaken the necessary steps to transform the Open CASCADE activity into a new subsidiary. The rise in orders has been accompanied by growing frequentation of the Internet sites from which Open CASCADE can be downloaded, either as a stable, certified version at http://www.opencascade.com or as a developer version at http://www.opencascade.org
Open CASCADE is an open source tool for 3D modelling world-wide and is dedicated to the development of trade-specific technical and scientific applications ranging from mechanical CAD/CAM/CAE to architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) and geographical information systems (GIS).
