Whittaker Controls, a Meggitt plc company, reports that it has been awarded a requirements contract by GE Aircraft Engines to supply de-ice valves used on the F110-GE-132 engine. The initial order specifies the valves to be delivered beginning in 2002 through to 2006.

The F110-GE-132 is the latest and most advanced member of GE's F110 fighter engine family. Derived from the F110-GE-129, the 132 is a 32,000lb thrust class engine incorporating several evolutionary technologies designed to provide both enhanced combat performance and reduced cost of ownership. The 132 is currently in its US Air Force sponsored development phase having completed approximately half of the engine testing required for full USAF qualification in May 2002. The engine has been selected as the propulsion system for the new F-16 Block 60 fighter aircraft.
