$18m Risk-sharing partnership with Airbus

Keywords: Airbus, Apollo, Materials, Supply chain management

Airbus reports that it has signed a new five year service agreement worth around $18 million with Apollo, the international specialist in supply chain management for high value materials. Apollo will undertake the raw material procurement, inventory management, preparation and supply of aluminium, titanium and stainless steel precision cut tube to Airbus Filton Facility on a Just in Time Service Provider basis.

The five year, open book, partnership sees Apollo working closely with Airbus to manage all their tube requirements in an arrangement that shares the financial risks associated with materials procured for the Airbus family, including, Wide Body A300/A310, Single Aisle A31 9/A320/A321 and Long Range A330/A340/A340-5001600 variants. They will also play a leading role in materials technology associated with future A380 requirements. As part of the agreement Apollo will construct a new purpose built facility close to the Filton site in the next 12 months.
