Pillar Seals & Gaskets ('PSG') of Worthing, a member of the Aerospace Special Products Division of the UK-listed Hampson Industries plc, has gained registration to the demanding environmental quality standard BSEN ISO 14001.

According to PSG not only has it been providing general industry with a range of specialist sealing products since 1963, it also has for many years been focused on protecting the environment and has routinely found ways of safely reducing and removing waste in all its forms throughout the organisation. Of note is that although legislation demanded that asbestos was no longer to be used in gasket material from the end of 2001, PSG eliminated its use as early as 1999. In another initiative, packaging has been conserved by the development of a system of returnable and reusable product bins.
