Cleaning solution for small batch production
Keywords: Cleaning, Components
Developed for small companies with comparatively low production capacities as well as large operations with decentralised cleaning station requirements, the compact Dürr Ecoclean 80C is said to provide an economical solution to component cleaning in a closed work chamber with easy front loading access (Plate 6).
Shown for the first time on the Traub Heckert UK stand at MACH 2002, the PLC controlled Dürr 80C claims a throughput capacity of up to eight batches an hour and incorporates both rotation and swivel action. The machine has a low energy requirement due to its heat recovery capability and can reportedly be used with aliphatic and naphthenic hydrocarbon non-halogenated solvents to VbF class A3 for high efficiency oil and swarf removal from soiled components.

The 80C features vapour decreasing and continuous solvent treatment through vacuum distillation with continuous separation of substances giving an environmentally friendly process. It is also available with a range of options including a second flood tank for finer cleaning demands, circulation filtration. low pressure or high pressure injection flood washing, ultrasonics and continuous oil discharge. In addition, automatic feed systems and automatic basket lid placement can be specified.
Basket size is 530mm by 365mm by 200mm high with a maximum batch weight of 75kg. This capacity is large compared with the machine's external floorspace requirements of 4.1met by 1.6met.
