Chemetall PLC has announced a new addition to its Ardrox range of products, designed specifically to meet the needs of the aviation industry.

Ardrox 6017 is reported to be a liquid cleaning and polishing compound specially formulated for use on wet or dry aircraft surfaces. According to Chemetall this enables Ardrox 6017 to be applied day or night, and during periods of high humidity or dew, with no hazing problems thereby reducing aircraft turnaround times. It is stated to be safe to use on both painted and unpainted metal surfaces and it does not powder or dust.

Ardrox 6017 is claimed to be simplicity itself to use, simply spray it on, wait a couple of minutes and then wipe it off with a clean mop head. It reportedly removes soils, oxides and exhaust tracks and results in a high-gloss shine on unpainted aluminium surfaces and restores paintwork to its original lustre. Chemetall also informs us that it can also be used at full strength to clean the surface of all landing gear. We are also informed that Ardrox 6017 has already been tested by accredited authorities and has the required approvals from AMS, McDonnell Dougias and Boeing.

Chemetall believe that this product will find a ready market among aircraft operators world wide where safety, speed and efficiency are the key criteria. Furthermore it will compliment their existing portfolio of products for the aviation market, which includes an extensive range of cleaning products, sanitizem and materials for non-destructive testing.
