AGIE Advance 2 launch completes diesink range

Keywords: Equipment, Machines, Diesinking

The launch of the Advance 2 EDM machine, designed to provide high performance diesinking, completes the range of diesink EDMs by specialist AGIE UK Ltd.

The new machine utilises the APG Advanced Power Generator and control found on the larger Advance 3 and 4 diesink EDMs for high quality erosion and easy-to-use operation. The generator's polish routine is said to allow operators to produce finished, polished parts direct from the machine. The Microsoft Windows 2000 based control provides wizards for quick and easy operation with 4h training often the maximum required by the operators with basic CNC erosion knowledge.

The AGIE Advance 2 diesink provides maximum X,Y,Z axes travels of 300 × 250 × 250 mm. The erosion envelope accommodates workpieces up to 630 × 380 × 165 mm in size and weighing up to 250 kg within a small footprint. The 64 A generator achieves a surface roughness of Ra 0.2 μm.

AGIE is a major supplier of state-of-the-art EDM equipment to industry. The company's diverse product range is used in processes ranging from EDM production applications to extremely high precision machining. These include aerospace, tool and die, micro-machining, electronic, and advanced material component manufacture.
