New aerospace subsidiary

Engineering and balancing technology specialist Universal Balancing Ltd reports that it has formed a new subsidiary, Aviation Tooling Ltd, to harness the capabilities of its aerospace industry expertise.

The new company, which is located at Universal Balancing's Kingswood, Bristol site, aims to establish itself as a cost-effective source of special-purpose tools, fixtures and gauges for aero engines produced by the world's leading manufacturers. Equipment for Rolls-Royce, Pratt and Whitney, General Electric, CFM and IAE is already available, along with a range of ground support equipment, dynamic balancing machines and associated services.

Heading the new organisation is the Managing Director Neil Cozens, who joins the Universal Balancing group with more than 20 years of tool making and international sales experience within the aerospace industry.

"I am delighted to be joining such a successful engineering group," said Neil. Universal Balancing has a strong track record within this sector. Several of its key personnel are former Rolls-Royce employees and a significant proportion of its business is with aerospace companies.

"We have three manufacturing sites in Bristol, Birmingham and Cradley Heath, plus a wealth of parts handling experience to draw on. Aviation Tooling is therefore extremely well placed to meet customers' demands for high quality products backed by fast availability and competitive pricing."
