Leading light takes the helm at Apollo
Geoff Smith, former chief executive officer of the Dowty Group, is joining the Board of Material Logistics plc., the holding company of Apollo Metals Ltd, as chairman. He takes over from Terry Gateley who is joining the Group's major shareholder, IRRfc, as chairman.
In announcing the change Terry said "Geoff is exactly what the Apollo Group needs at this stage in its development. He is one of the Aerospace industry's leading executives, has very substantial international experience and has been closely associated with the development of lean manufacturing both within the companies he has managed and through his involvement with the SBAC where he was a council member for 6 years and one of the founder members of the Supply Chain Relationships in Aerospace Initiative."
