Keywords: Video equipment, Endoscopic instruments

Orbimatic GmbH has introduced the video scope system which has broken down the price barrier of this type of equipment. The OrbiIMAGE system now makes it possible for contracting companies to purchase a video scope and eliminate the high expense of contracting in a specialist company.

It has never been cost-effective for contracting companies to invest in video scopes because of the very high capital investment required to bring this equipment in.

The Orbimatic system is said to be very easy to use and allows still and video images to be captured and stored to a standard, readily available memory card.

The images can be stored with a file name matching the data log file number of the weld being inspected making it very easy to cross reference for validation purposes.

Orbimatic have also introduced to their range a simple to use endoscope for the inspection of the internal profile of welds on tubes and pipes.

Packages are supplied as standard with an 8 mm diameter probe and a 90° adapter which can be used when required. For smaller diameters tubes a 5mm probe can be provided.

The endoscope is supplied with a 1m flexible shaft fitted with a 8 mm diameter probe. A 90° probe adaptor is also available to make inspection of internal weld profiles easy. The whole package is supplied in robust storage case which makes it easy to transport and keeps all parts in place.
