Adapter system turns standard tooling into multi-tasking mini turret

A new range of compact adaptors that allow standard (straight shank) turning tools to be utilised with the Walter Novex Capto system has been announced by Walter GB of Redditch.
The development enables users of conventional turning tools to enjoy the high-precision and high-speed changeover features of Novex Capto.Walter's adapter system is available in versions with one, two and three clamping grooves: the one groove style is ideal as a simple adaptor for large Capto turrets.
When the two or three-groove style is used, the adaptor itself effectively becomes a mini turret with two or three clamping grooves. The result is that tool change times on turn-mill centres can be drastically reduced as the milling spindle is simply indexed onwards to the next tool.
