Pacific Avionics and Instruments gains ISO

Article Type: News and views From: Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology: An International Journal, Volume 81, Issue 1

IMP Group’s Pacific Avionics and Instruments division has gained re-registration status to ISO 9001:2000 and its expansion Aerospace Standard AS9100B. The company has added further expansion standards AS9110 and AS9120. It places the company uniquely in North America as holders of all three ISO expansion standards.

(AS9100 = aerospace manufacturing, AS9110 = repair and overhaul of aeronautical components, AS9120 = inventory and distribution of aeronautical components).

At the same time, the company recently acquired test equipment and training to support repairs, readout/intelligibility evaluation and return-to-service of the full line of Honeywell solid state cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders (FOR).

The addition of AS9110, repair and overhaul, was added to reflect the bulk of the company’s avionics activity.

AS9120 was added since the company regularly distributes aeronautical products. Holding these approvals allows the company to bid on government and military customers as well as improving systems for commercial and corporate customers.
