Serving as commander-in-chief, United States Central Command and commander of operations for Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the 1991 Persian Gulf War, Schwarzkopf captured the admiration of people everywhere. Above all, he is an experienced manager who understands people, motivation and leadership.

"Clearly, a keynote speaker of this stature signifies the importance of this conference and tradeshow to the electronics manufacturing industry and the commitment of the exhibiting companies toprovide an outstanding experience for all attendees," says IPC president Thom Dammrich. "General Schwarzkopf's remarks on the principles of successful leadership not only will be of great appeal for all attendees but will provide an unparalleled opportunity to learn from one of America's great leaders and heroes."

Schwarzkopf's autobiography, It Doesn't Take a Hero, was an international bestseller. He retired from the Army in August 1991. During his 35 years of service in the US military, General Schwarzkopf was awarded many honours, including three Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
