European PCB Group (Cayman Islands) Limited has sold its Special Products Group to a management team led by Derrick Bumpsteed. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Special Products Group comprises facilities in Blackburn, Tamworth and Telford. These facilities were acquired in 1997 and 1998 by Viasystems Group, Inc. as part of their Forward Group and Zincocelere acquisitions. Viasystems Group, Inc. transferred the facilities to European PCB Group in 2000. The facilities, which continued to trade under the "Viasystems" name, will be renamed "Invotec" with David Jones as Chief Executive of the new group.

The Special Products Group designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of highly complex printed circuit board products incorporating specialised materials and non-standard builds. Its products are used, primarily, in the telecommunications, datacommunications, computer, military, automotive and aerospace industries.
