The aim of the 2011 International Conference on Management Learning and Business Technology Education is to provide an opportunity for international scholars and industrial professors to share their knowledge and address the current issues facing management educators and organizational practitioners.

Given the challenges of today’s dynamic business environment, organizational scholars and business practitioners need to explore new and more effective ways of managing organizations.

Central to this is an examination of contemporary ways of thinking about management and organizational learning and leadership.

The Conference offers a forum for exploring ideas relating to the role of business schools, evaluating existing approaches to management and organizational learning and exploring new ones.

Submissions are encouraged from a variety of theoretical perspectives.

The Management Conference is held annually in different locations round the world. The Conference was held at HEC Montréal, Montréal, Canada in 2010; Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 2009; Cambridge University, UK in 2008; Singapore Management University, Singapore in 2007; Monash University Centre, Prato, Italy in 2006; the University of the Aegean, on the island of Rhodes, Greece in 2005; the Maritime Campus of the University of Greenwich, London, UK in 2004; and Bayview Beach Resort, Batu Ferringhi Beach, Penang, Malaysia in 2003.

The primary interest of the Management Conference is knowledge-based social and economic change. Driven by globalization and advances in information and communications technologies, this change has been characterized in terms of emerging information/knowledge societies and a global knowledge-based economy.

The Conference will offer a comprehensive overview of current thinking in the area broadly described as knowledge management. Its perspectives will range from big picture analyses in keynote addresses by internationally recognized experts in the field of management, to detailed case studies of management practice. It will traverse a broad terrain, from theory and analysis to practical strategies for action.
