Leaders In Business19 February 2013, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., London

We are honoured to bring you a business legend not just here in the UK but around the world; Sir Terry Leahy.

We do not know if you are familiar with the Leaders In events, but just in case you are not, our events are always short (after all we know you are busy), will always feature only the most admired and respected leaders in business, will have a mix of presentation, interview and Q&A (after all we know you will want your say) followed by some fine wine and canapés (of course).

Sir Terry will be sharing with us some wisdom from his time at Tesco and also sharing some insights from his new book Management in 10 Words. This is a rare chance to hear Sir Terry speak, then be interviewed and then be open to your questions … It will give us a great insight into his thoughts on leadership, business and CEO success. We look forward to you joining us …

Beyond Leadership – International Practice – National Values 21-22 March 2013, Lancaster University, Department of Management Learning, Lancaster University and the Grove International Management School

Who it is for – This event is for practitioners, academics and researchers and those who practice leadership in any kind of organizational setting especially in overseas trade.

What you will get out of it – It is an opportunity for them to examine their work in a broader context and to consider trends in this field and the implications of this for what they do.

How you will get it – There will be a mixture of presentations, inputs, discussions and experiential activities.

What the benefits are – As the pace of global interaction in trade as well as politics quickens the relevance of many of the ideas that have dominated teaching in leadership development and in business schools has come under increased scrutiny and revision. It is recognized that there is no single “best” approach to understanding how business is conducted, organizations managed or leadership exercised but clearly there have been advances in practice and theory as time has gone by. Business is often more about managing differences than similarities and people from different countries often think ore differently than is assumed.

This conference is intended to allow an examination of how we understand leadership and how business and trade are conducted in different countries and kinds of business organization.
