Factory Mutual publicly releases all of its property loss prevention engineering data sheets on CD-ROM
Factory Mutual (FM) has released the Factory Mutual Resource Collection CD-ROM-first-ever "public release" of FM's entire property loss prevention engineering Data sheet technical reference library.
Previously, FM's entire Data Sheet collection, which covers more than 300 topics and fills thousands of pages, was only available in paper format and offered mainly to insureds of Allendale Insurance, Arkwright and Protection Mutual Insurance the three insurance companies that own FM. Contractors, engineers, architects, facility managers, fire services, building code and inspection officials, companies, organizations, governments or anyone concerned with how to minimise property damage and losses, will find the easy-to-use CD-ROM invaluable. Subjects include information on construction, automatic sprinklers, heating equipment, electrical, extinguishing equipment, storage, water supply, boilers and pressure vessels, machinery, hazards, mechanical equipment, welding and nuclear applications.
"The CD-ROM comprises over 160 years of FM property loss prevention and control research, testing, field experience and loss statistics", says Robert Spaulding, FM standards engineer. "The information addresses industry's current and future protection requirements and is written by experts from a variety of engineering disciplines."
As an added bonus, the CD-ROM includes the complete FMRC Approval Guide, the only handbook to the thousands of fire protection, electrical, and building equipment materials and services tested and Approved for property conservation by FM.
The Factory Mutual Resource Collection CD-ROM is available for $790. A 50 per cent discount is offered to public fire service, fire marshals, government agencies, building code officials, pressure vessel inspectors, educational institutions as well as to insureds of Allendale Insurance, Arkwright and Protection Mutual Insurance.
The CD-ROM will be updated with new and revised data three times per year and the first year's updating is included for free.
