Computers in the City
Abstract
COMPUTERS have now become fairly common pieces of equipment in the offices of the larger city stockbrokers and indeed a few brokers are in the throes of installing their replacement, third generation machines. However, in the past the principal applications of computers have been in the field of data retrieval and, on the accounting side of the business, routines such as producing contract notes, maintaining investment records and portfolio valuations.
