Abstract

The Industrial Training Act which was passed in 1964 has already created an entirely new attitude to training: in fact it has initiated a revolution both in thinking and in practice. The UK has lagged far behind most other highly developed industrial countries in this respect, but it is now rapidly taking its place in the forefront. One can appreciate how radical these changes are only if one keeps clearly in mind the situation before the Act became law.
