Abstract

Scope and Scale A British firm's export director was on a tour of some African countries and, quite by chance, learnt of a £1 million aid grant for machinery which his company could supply. The system used to identify aid money was considered to have been successful up to this time, but as a result of this discovery the firm conducted investigations which showed that, far from being satisfactory, its search procedure had missed a considerable number of potential orders in recent years.
