Abstract
Organisations respond in various ways to changes in their market environment. The structure of an organisation and the power of its individual executives affects the way it perceives a change in the market and its reaction to that change. It can go to complex lengths to avoid reading the signals from the market especially if these signals might upset the balance of power and influence.
