Education for change
Abstract
What would teachers and lecturers do if they found out that the syllabus they were using to prepare their students for an external examination was out of date? That while they had been teaching, the examining board had changed the syllabus and, as a result of the failure of the teacher to take notice of this, the student was unable to pass the examination at the end of the course? Luckily, you may reply, teachers pay careful attention to such matters; and it is rare that a course of preparation is irrelevant to the end examination.
