Abstract

Those with memories of Much‐Binding‐in‐the‐Marsh would get a bit of a surprise were they to visit the site of the wartime RAF station which is now the home of the Fire Service College. Before the RAF finally left their Gloucestershire home they used to organise fire training and it was logical that in the sixties the Fire Service Technical College should have been set up on the former airfield. In May 1974 it was formally opened by the Queen.
