Abstract

With trends shifting towards automation and labour saving in the production process in industry, testing and sorting steps associated with visual inspection are still often handled manually by human operators. Although human vision has many superior capabilities, however, its most significant shortcoming is the lack of continuity, and variability existing on an individual basis. Furthermore, manually inspecting and sorting samples is difficult and tiring for human operators.
