Abstract

The repair and restoration of the ‘Lords’ Ceiling' — more accurately, the ceiling of the Lords' Chamber, at the Palace of Westminster, in the care of the Property Services Agency — has been one of the outstandingly challenging architectural tasks of the decade. How was the initial survey carried out, on the basis of which this elaborate restoration contract has now been followed through to its completion?
