Opportunities for changes of use or renewal of buildings
Abstract
Quietly, almost unnoticed, technological progress is having a significant effect on the property market. Buildings, constructed with a specific purpose in mind, and with an anticipated life of at least 60–100 years, are becoming redundant relatively early in their life. The results for property owners can be devastating; as assets, which have been regarded as good long term investments become almost valueless empty hulks.
