Abstract

This paper deals with actual corrosion cases encountered in Daura Refinery, Baghdad, over a ten‐year period. The paper explains the types of corrosion seen, their causes and the methods which have been used to combat them. Also the effectiveness of the methods of prevention or cure is outlined. The paper contains a short introduction, presenting the main activities of the refinery, and a tabulation of the types of crudes used with their important and related properties.
