Abstract

DePauw University, a private, undergraduate, liberal arts college located in rural, west central Indiana, was founded by the United Methodist Church in 1837. At present, DePauw has a 4–1–4 academic calendar which permits a four‐week term to be placed between the two semesters. The interim term, often called Winter Term, is conducted during the month of January and has been part of the institution since 1971.
