Buckingham's Action Learning Business School — How Well Does the Theory Work?
Abstract
A new business school was created last year with the intention of combining academic theory and practical application. The International Management Centre from Buckingham (IMCB) received a lot of attention when it was launched in late 1982. How has it fared since then and, most importantly, how is it meeting the needs of training managers and their organisations? In this article, IMCB's Principal, Gordon Wills, and its Industrial Fellow in Managerial Communications, Abby Day, describe the work of the school and assess its impact.
