Abstract

When the Staff College is set up it is to be hoped that methods of instruction in technical colleges will not be completely ignored as a subject for discussion. The very nature of selection of some of the senior staff — including principals, readers and senior lecturers who often come direct from industry — means that many of them are quite unfamiliar with the more desirable ways of imparting information to students. As a result, the time‐hallowed lecture goes boringly on from strength to strength with regrettable disregard of the students or of the college's standards of efficiency as a teaching organisation.
