Abstract

Sir Frederick Handley Page, who died recently at the age of 76, had remarkable achievements to his credit in the development of aviation. He designed his famous bomber for World War I while still in his twenties and built up the great aircraft organisation which bore his name and which was responsible, among other things, for the slotted wing, the Victor and the Herald.
