Abstract

Why do technical colleges contain mechanical laboratories? A simple enough question, but one which would produce a wide range of answers if it could be put to all teachers of mechanical engineering subjects. These would vary from the ‘textbook’ reply, to the suggestion that they can be usefully employed as spare classrooms.
