Abstract

Week I ON MONDAY, 2nd September 1963, the new College stirred into life as the full staff reported for duty. The first staff meeting was held that morning with all teaching and non‐teaching staff present. The afternoon saw an official welcome by the Chairman of the Governing Body, and this was followed by departmental staff meetings. On the same day the refectory opened fully to provide meals for the staff. The builders handed over the workshop block although the electricians were still hard at work on the wiring, and no power was available in any of the main workshops.
