Abstract

Although the approach of the Performance Improvement System as outlined is normally quite effective, occasionally managers will have difficulty either in initially obtaining the desired frequency of improvement, or of maintaining the desired frequency. At least 90 per cent of these problems are caused by a failure to apply behavioural principles properly. A list of common problems, and a “First‐Aid Kit” for solving them, follows.
