Abstract

After a storm, hurricane, cyclone or typhoon (you can choose the name which applies to your part of the world) you will find plenty of up‐rooted trees around and, generally speaking, they have one thing in common — shallow, weak roots. Sometimes if you had passed the tree before the storm hit it you might have well been impressed by its growth but, sadly enough, to use modern business terms the infrastructure was not good enough.
