Abstract

There is now a widely‐held belief that education in England is prohibitively expensive for foreign students. As a result, two of Britain's leading educationists are spending eight weeks touring South‐East Asia to promote the many benefits still offered by UK colleges for the study of law and accountancy. Valerie Aggett, Principal of Holborn Law Tutors, and John Grenier, Principal of the London School of Accountancy — two of Britain's most successful privately‐owned training centres — are now travelling throughout Malaysia and Singapore undertaking a programme of conferences and lectures to students, parents and local educationists. The tour will give them the opportunity to put an end to the unfortunate misunderstanding which has arisen since the Government stopped State support to overseas students. This had led to reports that a year's study will cost in the region of £2500. In fact both HLT and LSA fees are less than £1000 per year for any of their courses, and offer a value unbeatable by any other country.
