Abstract

The Government's major White Paper Training for Jobs announces reforms in two key areas of training. First, to make training and vocational education more relevant to employment needs MSC will be given responsibility for a quarter of the £800m spent each year by local education authorities in England and Wales on work‐related non‐advanced further education. Secondly, the Government has broadly endorsed MSC's proposals for the reform of adult training, which will be restructured in order to help ¼million people each year by offering:
