Abstract

In a rapidly changing world we need to run very fast to stay in the same place. But most people do not want to stay in the same place; they need therefore to run that much faster. The world of work is changing and it will be a very long time, if at all, before the world of leisure takes over in ensuring personal fulfilment and satisfaction. Changes in the world of work are not due solely to technological change, important though this is; there are three other factors that are of crucial importance:
